T-Mobile Home For The Holidays

What gets you in the holiday spirit?

Music is always a good way to feel that spirit for me.

Here is a little something to get you in the holiday spirit if you aren't already there!

T-Mobile surprises shoppers at the Chicagoland area's Woodfield Mall with a surprise performance and updated spin on the holiday classic, "(There's No Place Like) Home For The Holidays".

Handprint Christmas Tree

I am making an effort to actually do some of the projects I have been pinning like crazy on Pinterest.  Here is the most recent one I completed.  I used the childrens handprints from my classes to create this Christmas tree.  I have it hanging on the bulletin board outside my classroom.

My Nana

I am so fortunate that the SITS girls offered me an opportunity to do a post for the American Cancer Society campaign.

I want to tell you about my Nana.

My Nana G. was a great lady.  Although not everyone would say that about her....I do!  She loved me more than anything and she let me know it is so many ways.  When we moved away from our family growing up she was the one I missed the most.  She always made me feel special and loved in a way no one else could ever do! She passed away just after my first child was born......there was so much I wanted to know and have her advice about at that time in my life. I still miss her every day!

Please take a moment to watch this video from the American Cancer Society

What's For Dinner! Baked Spaghetti

Here is our dinner tonight Baked Spaghetti (recipe like below).  I baked it a little too long and it go a little browner than I would have like but it still tasted great!  We all enjoyed it.  It makes a ton so we have quite a bit of leftovers.  I served it with a Ceasar Salad.  It was a good meal on a really cold night.

Here is the recipe for I used for my baked spaghetti Eat at Home-Baked Spaghetti
Let me know if you give it a try!

Trying To Find Our New Normal

Well my oldest moved away to college and is loving it!  I am so happy for him and excited about all he has ahead of him.  But things are just not the same around here at all. The house is just not the same without him.  We have been adjusting to the new normal around here.   I knew it would be a tough adjustment......I just didn't know how hard it would be on me.

I am finally feeling like blogging again. Probably don't have any readers left.  But I plan to blog regularly.

I have been slightly addicted to Pinterest for awhile so I will be sharing some of the projects I have been working on.  I decided I can't just keep pinning I need to DO THEM!!!!  So that is my goal.

What have you been up to?  Anyone still out there?  I am also finally back to reading blogs again too.  So I will be visiting your blogs and commenting again too.  Thank for hanging with me for this long babble and this long absence too!

One week to go!

Here is my guest room currently.  My oldest is heading off to college one week from today.  And we have spent lots of money and time getting him ready to go.  We still have a list of things to buy too!!

I have been trying hard to focus on the task at hand and not be too emotional about him leaving.  Some days are good........ some not so good.  It is hard to let him go!  I know he will do great, but I am sad that our little family will change forever after next week.

Fugly to Fab-Guest room cabinet

Okay here is the cabinet I teased you with a few weeks ago.  I bought it at Goodwill for $20....it is a very solid piece.  I instantly knew I wanted it and hubs thought I was crazy buying those 2 ugly chairs I redid for the game room and this beauty.  He doesn't have an eye for these projects at all.

Isn't she pretty all creamy white with new hardware.

Fugly to fab-Game room chairs

For Christmas my Dad made me a table for our game room. We had been using a small rickety card table in that room for games. He also gave me two chairs he had refinished to go with the table. I knew we needed four chairs so I went hunting for two chairs at Goodwill. And I found these beauties marked down to $5 each.  I grabbed them.  They are great solid chairs but had seen better days!

before
So he sanded and painted them for me so they would match the table and chairs.  Here they are all done.........

I love them!  I also bought a few other items....future fugly to fab posts once I get them finished!!
