Sad Day

My parents had to put their cocker spaniel to sleep today.  He was 13 years old.  I remember the day my son and I went with them to pick him out.  My parents let my son pick the puppy out!  Blarney was such a sweet and loveable dog.  We are all so sad that he is gone.  It brings back memories of our dog passing away....just so sad!  They are such an important part of the family.  Blarney you will be missed!!!

Oh how sad! A few years ago my husband's parents dog died. Although they were devastated they insisted that they did not want another dog as they were getting older and it would require a lot of work to train a puppy etc. But a few months later my father-in-law was clearly missing having a dog around so much that we bought him a new puppy. He is no longer a puppy but my in-laws love him to bits. As you say, for people who love dogs they are such an important part of the family.

I am so sorry. It really is such a hard thing to do. Our pets become a real part of our families. I'll never forget when we had to put our golden retriever to sleep. My thoughts are with you.

That is one of the hardest things to do. It is amazing how much a pet can become a part of your family. I am sending positive thoughts to your family!

That is really sad for all of you. I will be thinking of you guys. Our dog has cancer and isn't expected to live throughout the summer so I know the sadness.

Awww, I'm sorry. We had to put down our Pug who was also 13. It was sad and she was suffering. They really do become a part of the family, don't they?
